Hair Color from Photographs
Besides optical simulations we are also actively doing research and development in the area of inverse rendering. Inverse rendering means the process of estimating optical properties from photographs. For example, using our technologies we are able to reconstruct scattering functions for individual hair strands. This allows us to either analyze the influence of cosmetic products on hair or to synthesize (render) new results based on a single input image.
